Information About Holbox
A cozy and small island in the north of the Mexican Caribbean – Isla Holbox. The area is nestled within the Yum Balam ecological reserve which is declared a Protection Area of Flora and Fauna. Surrounded by beautiful beaches and a shallow crystalline sea, it is home to colorful wooden houses and sandy streets. To get to Holbox, you have a number of options. First, you can fly directly to Holbox, second, rent a car and drive to Holbox, or you can take the Holbox bus. You have to go to Chiquilla by road and from there you will need to take a Holbox ferry or private boat over to the island.
Holbox is not a very big island but there are a lot of things you can do in the area like watching the flamingos, relax at the beach, admire the street art, go kayaking in the mangroves, enjoy cocktails by the pools, lounge in the water hammocks, and even swim with the whale sharks!

On average, the temperatures in Holbox are always high. The rainy season is seen in September and October while the warmest month is August with an average maximum temperature of 35°C (95°F). The coldest month is January with an average maximum temperature of 28°C (82°F). October is the most wet month. This month should be avoided if you are not a big fan of rain. April is the driest month.
